One of the most practical applications of BaZi is health. The Five Elements correspond directly to organs and body systems. When your elements are imbalanced, your body tells you.


Element-Body Map

Wood (木) — Liver, gallbladder, eyes, tendons, nerves
  • Excess Wood: Anger, headaches, eye strain, muscle tension
  • Weak Wood: Fatigue, poor vision, indecision, joint stiffness
Fire (火) — Heart, small intestine, blood, circulation
  • Excess Fire: Insomnia, anxiety, high blood pressure, skin rashes
  • Weak Fire: Cold hands/feet, poor circulation, lethargy, depression
Earth (土) — Spleen, stomach, muscles, mouth, skin
  • Excess Earth: Weight gain, sluggish digestion, worry, overthinking
  • Weak Earth: Poor appetite, weak digestion, fatigue after eating
Metal (金) — Lungs, large intestine, nose, skin
  • Excess Metal: Asthma, skin problems, grief, rigidity
  • Weak Metal: Weak immunity, frequent colds, low vitality
Water (水) — Kidneys, bladder, bones, ears, teeth
  • Excess Water: Kidney issues, fluid retention, fearfulness
  • Weak Water: Back pain, weak bones, hearing problems, low willpower

What to Do About Imbalances

If Wood is weak: Eat more greens, exercise gently, spend time in nature If Fire is weak: Warm foods, sunlight, cardiovascular exercise If Earth is weak: Stable meal times, root vegetables, grounding practices If Metal is weak: Breathing exercises, white foods, morning routines If Water is weak: Rest, hydration, salt, kidney-supporting foods
